Meet Paula Cepeda Gallo
Program Coordinator
Paula Cepeda Gallo holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Gender and
Social Justice Studies from the University of Alberta, in Canada. She is currently a student in
the Faculty of Law at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
Her research interests have centered on feminist theoretical perspectives on societal and
legal responses to sexual and gendered violence, as well as the role of institutions of global
governance and human rights frameworks in ratcheting up gender justice. Her
research has also focused on decolonial projects challenging racial injustice and the conditions of
inequality that characterize contemporary societies.
Paula has significant experience working with marginalized and vulnerable groups, victims of sexual violence, children, and individuals within the disability community. Her work in these areas—undertaken in various roles, including advocate and activist—grounds her political and social commitments to building global and community-based coalitions that support the pursuit of justice and craft transformative solutions to bring an end to sexual violence.
