Meet Shelby Quast

 

Shelby is a human rights attorney who brings more than 30 years of global experience working on gender based violence and women and girls’ rights.

 

 

 

She has worked and lived across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America and has extensive experience in conflict affected environments. She has built and sustained relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including: international development agencies; human rights defenders; survivors; movements, coalitions and organizations; funders; government officials; law and policy makers. She brings demonstrated and progressive global leadership and management, good governance, strong financial management, effective international advocacy and developed partnership skills.

 

She is passionate about fostering leadership, power-sharing and teamwork, approachable communications and a positive and balanced work culture. Shelby has held leadership positions in global NGOs, working with those most affected by discrimination, violence and conflict. She supports and promotes international movement building and the creation of networks, coalitions and consortia that help provide avenues and platforms for survivors to demand their rights, engage their communities, inform laws and public policy, and pave the path for survivors to use their voices and lead.
